Superman and Lois Lane Break Up; Who Will Be There for Jimmy Olsen?

From ComicsAlliance: DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan DiDio teased a “reexamined” relationship between Superman’s Clark Kent persona and Lois Lane in the relaunched DCU earlier this month, leading many to imagine a relationship that either hasn’t happened yet or didn’t manifest into marriage.

Today at The Source, DC confirmed that Superman’s ‘Action Comics’ adventures will reflect a very different Man of Steel that sees him single, orphaned, flightless and sporting a costume that will evolve from street wear to Kryptonian-influenced armor.

What’s more, his love Lois Lane will have a new gig — and a new love interest — at The Daily Planet.  Lois Lane first premiered in ‘Action Comics’ #1 in June 1938; from her first appearance, the brash reporter was caught in a love triangle between Superman and his alter-ego Clark Kent that spanned, radio, Broadway, cartoons, TV and most famously, the film series of the 1970s and 80s starring Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder. The couple was married in 1996 in a media event that crossed-over between comic books and the ABC series 'Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.'
